Artist’s statement: My photography focuses on capturing the lives of people who are often overlooked and whose lack of representation on the internet and social media makes them the subjects of the least attention. Each image contains a specific group of people, from farmers and children to labourers, the elderly and service industry workers. My goal is to use the documentary photography genre to focus on social issues including elder care, child welfare and fair wages. Through these visual narratives, I seek to provide visibility to marginalized groups. The purpose behind my work is to initiate a visual dialogue that fosters awareness and understanding, forcing viewers to think about often overlooked aspects of our social. By advocating for empathy and social responsibility, I aim to spark discussion around necessary reforms to address the issues of social problems around us.
